I had been meaning to try out the Crest 5D whitestrips for a long while, and about a month ago I finally did. I use to use the Dile a Smile Whitening Kit (for about 6 months) and after the 5-5rd use, my teeth wouldn't get any whiter. Their product I got for about $60-70? And was not pleased. So I decided to try out the strips and I love them! People have really noticed my white smile and have gotten a lot of compliments on it. I can finally wear bright colors on my lips and they still look amazingly white. The first time I used the strips, it hurt and it was my fault. The instructions said not to brush your teeth beforehand and please DO NOT. I brushed my teeth and applied the strips and it burned and made my gums feel sensitive but within that one time I did noticed a difference. I'm down to my last 8-10 strips and now I only use one once a week. At first,I used 6-7 in a row. I love them, and will repurchase. Probably the one with 50 strips. I have used white strips a long time ago (>10 years) and they did a great job whitening my teeth. So when I thought to try it again I was hoping for better results since I figured they would have improved the product. Well I did the 15 day treatment and it did whiten it a bit but not as much as I was anticipating so I am a little disappointed. But I give it 5 stars because it did increase the whiteness somewhat.One thing I did notice is that these do stick to your teeth alot better than before and they do not slip off. So you are able to talking regularly without sounds like you have something in your mouth.Also, as others have said it does make your teeth pretty sensitive but if you avoid extreme temperature changes in your mouth (i.e ice water) it isn't too bad.
I have used crest strips on and off for years with pretty good results. I hesitated to buy the professional effects because of all the reviews reporting tooth pain/sensitivity. I have never had a problem with sensitivity so decided to give it a shot thinking the worst that could happen is it would hurt my teeth a little but if it did I could always take an advil or discontinue use. I am on day 11 and am not seeing noticeable results. For me, the strips do not adhere to my teeth as tightly as I had expected based on the product description, therefore they are not at all difficult to remove. I have not experienced any pain or sensitivity but on the other hand, I have also not seen a lot of whitening. It has been 2 years since I last whitened my teeth and I do drink coffee everyday but the box says that it removes 15 years, or something similar, of stains. I agree with another reviewer on here that the old crest strips that were cheaper and used twice a day were much more effective at whitening teeth. One more thing, with the older brand of crest strips, I used to have a lot of gel remaining on my teeth that would need brushed off after but none at all with these new strips which makes me wonder... I have 9 more days of strips so maybe there will be a miraculous whitening at like day 19 or something, if that happens, i will definitely let you know.
